Asan Memorial College of Engineering & Technology is one among the institutions under the Asan Group of Educational Institutions. These institutions are governed by the Asan Memorial Association – Chennai, which was established in 1965 as a tribute to the memory of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan, the late poet laureate of Kerala.
Then founding members of the Association consisted of eminent Malayalees, settled in Chennai, from different walks of life such as industrialists, educationists, film personalities and social workers who were devoted and highly dedicated to the noble cause of education. The Founder Secretary of the Association, Shri A. K. Gopalan continues to be the guiding star and moving spirit behind the Asan Memorial Educational Institutions.

Education is more important as well as an honourable service to the nation and humanity. Considering technical education as the need in today’s modern world, AMCET was established. As a member of management in AMCET as Joint Secretary, I feel honoured to be the part of this institution which provides impressive multifaceted infrastructural and advanced laboratories, spacious class rooms, digital library as well as ample ground for sports activity.
On behalf of the entire management, I ensure all the students as well as well-wishers that infrastructure, academic environment, human resources, professional teaching skills and learning process will be maintained with active contribution from our side and this institute will continue to progress in coming years too.

AMCET is a vision-driven Engineering campus with excellent facilities in a serene lush green environment with state of art Sports Facilities with Cricket Ground to international standards with competent ICC Level 2 certified cricket coach, Football, volley ball ground and Indoor games. The hostel infrastructure facilities are the best among educational institutions.
The Innovation, Incubation and entrepreneurship centre and Excellence Centre Building are designed for enriching high calibre students in AMCET.

Kumaresan Muthiah, the esteemed Director of ASAN Memorial College of Engineering and Technology (AMCET), brings over 35 years of invaluable experience across diverse industrial sectors. With a robust career in leadership roles spanning Fertilizer, Power, and Petrochemical Plants within the prestigious Murugappa Group of Companies, Chennai, he has demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management. His international experience includes significant tenures in Tunisia, the Philippines, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia, where he excelled in multicultural, ethnically diverse work environments.
A passionate advocate for nurturing young talent, he has mentored future leaders from premier institutions like IITs and NITs, bringing his extensive knowledge in Project Management, Safety, and Environmental Management to his training. His skills extend to HR, where he has handled recruitment, performance evaluation, and skill development for managerial roles. He also specializes in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Supply Chain Management, having collaborated with BCG and Deloitte.
In recognition of his commitment, Mr. Muthiah has received multiple honors, including awards from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in Delhi and the Best Management Award in the chemical industry category from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. As a member of professional bodies like CII and MMA, he continues to stay at the forefront of his field.
Mr. Muthiah holds a B.E. degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Anna University, Chennai, and an M.S. from BITS Pilani. Furthering his management education, he completed the Advanced Management Program and the Business Leadership Program (BLP) at IIM Bangalore. He is also a certified NLP Coach, a CII Assessor for Business Excellence in the EFQM Model, and has completed various certifications, including Customer Centricity from ISB Hyderabad, a Harvard E-Learning Module, and ISO Internal Auditor certifications for 9001-2000, 14001, and 18001, as well as PSMS (Process Safety Management Systems). Also he is an avid marathon runner.
